Religious words can be used to give personal ambition the appearance of spiritual purpose. Quoting Scripture, invoking God's will, or speaking about mission does not sanctify leadership that is controlling, self-serving, or harmful. The true test is whether the leader's character and treatment of people reflect the heart of Christ.
