Your progress: Not started

Good Morning Beloved—

Here is one that is incredibly simple, but for some reason, with a lot of men it just doesn’t seem to take hold. Those of you who already do this diligently, good for you! For the rest of us, let’s quit making excuses, be a man, and just start doing it.

Pick up your clothes.

Yep. That’s right. That’s the great marriage-changing revelation for this week!

When you take something off, put it where it belongs. If it’s clean, hang it up or put it away. If it’s dirty, put it in the hamper. Not near the hamper. Not on the floor beside the hamper. And not on that chair that somehow became the unofficial second closet. In the hamper!

Why should your wife have to come behind you and pick up something you could have taken care of in ten seconds? She has enough to do without adding “pick up after my husband” to the list. And really, what does it say to her when we continually leave little things for her to take care of that we could easily do ourselves?

Believe it or not, something this small can actually say, “I love you.”

Remember, we started this series by saying to tell your wife “I love you” as often as she can stand it. But we don’t only say it with words. We say it by noticing. We say it by helping. We say it by taking responsibility for ourselves and doing small things that make her day a little easier instead of a little harder.

And if you have children watching you, there’s another benefit. You’re teaching your sons what a husband looks like and your daughters what they should expect from one. That’s worth the extra ten seconds right there.

So here’s your Positive Accountability for the week: Pick up your clothes. Every time. Don’t make this complicated. Don’t develop a new clothing-management system. Just put them where they belong!

Simple? Yep.

Important? Ask your wife!

Walk with the King today, and love your bride well.

Much love and blessings…
