When two legitimate roads lie before us, wisdom is not found in blindly following passion, clinging to past investment, or waiting for certainty that will never come. It is found in faithfully counting the cost, seeking counsel, examining the evidence, and then having the courage to choose.
We want God to give us clear answers, preferably quickly. But biblical wisdom is rarely a shortcut around uncertainty. God uses Scripture, providence, integrity, counsel, planning, patience, and obedience not merely to direct our decisions, but to form us into people increasingly able to recognize and choose what is wise.
A leader may postpone making a formal decision, but practical decisions are still being made every day. The work continues, the cost keeps rising, and someone else carries the burden. Not deciding is still a decision—usually one made at someone else’s expense.
