Taking our responsibilities seriously does not require taking ourselves seriously. In fact, self-importance often makes leadership heavier than it needs to be. Humility lets us admit mistakes, laugh at ourselves, listen to others, and remember that the mission is important even when our own importance has been greatly exaggerated.
